Looking to Purchase the Latest TV? Look Into the LED Backlit TVs
Eventually nearly all things have to be replaced and TVs are one of those things. If it’s been some time since you last looked into a television, you may be confused by the different acronyms that refer to the new types of TV sets. The different types of TVs now include LCD, Plasma, DLP and LED TVs. Purchasing a new television will also allow you to give up that clunky converter box as all the latest televisions are high definition or HD and digital ready. Nowadays, you can find many different cheap plasma TV and LCD TV deals, but if you want the latest technology, you should look into the LED televisions.
In LCD TVs, the backlighting was from fluorescent tubes. Since these lights are on all the time, these screens do not always produce the deep dark black colors. The light from the back can leak to the screen surface even if the TV sets was trying to project deep black. Fluorescent lighting does not contain all the colors in the rainbow, and the colors that can be shown on the TV screen, television screen are limited. This is why fluorescent lighting can limits the colors shown on a TV, while LED lighting offers a higher range of colors.
If you are buying a LED TV, you will want to understand the two types of LED TVs. One is to have the LED lights along the edge of the TV screen and this is what is called an edge lit LED television. Another is to arrange them behind the screen in a setup called a backlit LED TV. If you are concerned about energy consumption, both the edgelit and backlit LED technologies use less energy than a fluorescent tube LCD or a plasma TV set. If you want an ultra thin technology in your television and pay less, then you would probably want the edgelit LED screen.
While looking for these televisions, you will find that edge lit televisions are both thinner and less expensive than the back lit screens. If the sharpest deep dark black colors are what you are looking for, you will want to choose the backlit LED television.
If you don’t know where to look, you can pay up to two times as much for a LED backlit television compared to a similar feature and size LCD or plasma TV. To find the best deals on cheap LED TVs, be sure to compare the features and prices at your favorite store and also at the various online shopping bargain websites.
