So, as a precautionary measure, halogen based bulbs should be installed away from flammable and combustible items. Cautious use the light bulbs should be done to avoid accidents and burns.
Professionals don’t recommend touching halogen bulbs using uncovered hands mainly because this would contaminate the quartz surface with oils and salts from the skin. The unprotected quartz surface will become a vulnerable spot to cut back the life expectancy of the bulbs. Hence, the light bulbs must only be touched, after being cooled down inside the socket, using gloved hands. If perhaps accidental skin contact was made, the light bulb must be wiped thoroughly.
