Inexhaustible Energy Resources To Power Our Energy Hunger
The planet the way it is these days is an power thirsty place and it’s imperative that we be searching sustainable sources of energy to furnish that demand. We should also find cleaner modes of utilizing the current renewable energy technology that are already in place. We should all be concerned about the impact that is being placed on our earth and how the steep cost of energy is impacting us. The energy that is thrown down the drain every day is shameful and each and every one of us should take a look at what they could do to be more reasonable in their use. We should open our eyes and make ourselves more modest about our utilization. There are resolutions to these problems but how prepared have individuals been to implement these solutions at the present.
Wind power has started to become very popular over the last decade as a outstanding source of green energy. The price of the power it develops is turning really aggressive with conventional methods of energy output such as coal and natural gas. Wind Generators have been used for many years to produce energy. They used to used on the farms to pump water and every farm had one back then. It is a known fact these days that the states of Texas, Kansas, and North Dakota have enough wind to supply power for the entire U.S.
Corn has also been touted as primary source of green fuel. The ethanol that is made from corn is a clean burning energy source and crops can be grown year after year so it is renewable but at what toll. The price of corn has gone up as the result of this, which is good for the farmer but bad for the consumer. Research has shown that prairie grass would do a better job than corn. In reality it generates more energy per acre than corn. Prairie grass grows wild. You don’t have to cultivate or tend to it. No chemicals are needed to grow it, all that is needed is to harvest and process it.
Solar power is another renewable energy source that we are hearing more about and seeing being utilized. There are solar panels that will convert the suns energy into electricity and solar water heating systems to provide hot water. I recently read an article in a solar energy magazine about a family that installed a solar energy system on their home. They lived in Seattle. Of all the place in the world to put up a solar installation. Believe or not they had a respectable payback. The payback figures for the system were impressive even for a mostly overcast area like this.
One of the reasons I really like solar power is the fact that it allows people to become energy independent one home at a time. This would allow a shift from centralized power production to decentralization. Maybe that is one of the reasons why there hasn’t been as much advancement as there should be and why costs remain high. It seems the corporate world definitely like to be in control and we’ve already been made aware that there are dealings going on behind closed doors that aren’t always in the publics best interest.
We all know that oil isn’t going to last forever. If we don’t start doing something about it now than when. We need to get smart about what we are doing with our energy situation and begin to implement a new energy agenda. We can start to benefit from it now but we also need to think of how it is going to be of value to the next generation. You can do something to help make green energy a very real possibility for everyone.
You can learn more about solar panels, wind power , and other forms of green sources of energy by studying on-line about the subject that interests you the most. Be green and help keep the planet healthy and vibrant for the future.
