what is the difference between regular dobsonian tubes and truss tubes?
you need 100% darkness to use the truss tube right?
where the regular tube you can use in both a light polluted or dark sky right?
Truss tube scopes are great. So much easier to store. Set up takes longer, but the individual parts that make up the scope are lighter to carry and the optics cool off much faster than in a solid tube.
And as Geoff says, you just use a shroud, if the light pollution is troublesome.
